Bio

I'm a freelance scientist and have obtained my PhD in Statistics at LMU Munich, Germany. Being a member of the Sustainable Pet Food Foundation and Plant-Based Health Professionals UK, I'm now actively involved in different progressive, interdisciplinary research initiatives that aim to promote vegan (or plant-first) diets in the society, in hospitals, and also for pets. Quite new to the EA community, but always open to getting in touch with interesting people from the movement. :)

How others can help me

Always looking for effective ways on how to use my skills for the good. If you have some idea, let me know!

How I can help others

Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions about my research topics, or if you need general statistical advice on things, be it which conclusions to draw from a study or if you need support for your own study planning or statistical analysis. I'm a (mostly scientific) statistical consultant for over 10 years now, and have experience in all kinds of interdisciplinary projects.

Hi there,

I'm Alex, a statistical researcher based in Munich (Germany), actively involved in different progressive interdisciplinary research initiatives that aim to promote vegan (or plant-first) diets in the society, in hospitals, and also for our pet companions.

I did learn about the EA movement already some years ago, but am honestly only now properly getting into the topic, after Antje (see her intro post down below ;)  ) introduced me to this forum.

Doing research together with the Sustainable Pet Food Foundation (https://sustainablepetfood.info/) and Plant-Based Health Professionals UK (https://plantbasedhealthprofessionals.com/), I'm aiming for investing as much of my professional time into meaningful and impactful projects that animals and our society can profit from. Like Antje wrote in her below comment, especially the plant-based pet food movement has enormous potential due to the often overlooked negative impact of global pet food on animal suffering and our carbon footprint.

Very motivated to now dive deeper into the EA forum.

Greetings from Oktoberfest season in Munich! :)
