Looking to start a project on the problems of news media from multiple perspectives and their causes and solutions (sounds simple, I know!). I'd like to start out with a map of resources/orgs/research initiatives working on this. I'm starting out very general to consider various types of news media/journalism and various types of problems as well like low trust, misinfo, poor prioritization/story selection, attention economy incentives. I am aware of EA cause area magazines, but am otherwise unaware of people within EA directly working on this (I have a short running list of places outside of EA like the Trust Project, NewsGuard, AJP, etc.).
