Help us direct $80M — and eventually $3B — in annual donations to the world's most effective charities. We're looking for a Research Associate to join GWWC's research team, stress-testing our evaluations and ensuring our giving recommendations meet the highest standards of quality and integrity.
Giving What We Can is on a mission to make effective and significant giving a cultural norm — working towards a world without extreme poverty, animal suffering, and existential risk. Our goal: 1 million pledgers giving $3B/year to the highest-impact organisations — and this role is crucial to getting there.
Ideal candidate:
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking — comfortable weighing uncertain, conflicting evidence
- Reaches considered views and communicates reasoning clearly
- Meticulous, strategically prioritises, and cares about epistemic integrity
- And ideally some of the following:
- Familiarity with effective giving concepts (cost-effectiveness, counterfactuality, impact models)
- Academic or professional research / evidence synthesis experience
- M&E or impact assessment background
- Data skills (SQL, R, Python)
- Knowledge of GWWC's cause areas (global health, animal welfare, existential risk)
🌍 Remote, global
📅 Deadline: April 27th
